Barbara Ann Corcoran

 Barbara Ann Corcoran was a speaker, investor, and businesswoman from the United American. The Corcoran Group was a New York City real estate brokerage that she founded. NRT purchased it for $66million in 2001. Corcoran later left the business. Corcoran was a participant in 12 episodes of ABC's Shark Tank seasons. As of February 2020 she had closed 53 deals. One of them was a purchase of $350,000 to Coverplay at 40%. Corcoran was born in Edgewater, New Jersey, the second of 10 children from a working class Irish Catholic family. Florence Corcoran's mother was an errand-taker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. was her father through Corcoran’s childhood. The family relied sometimes on the free delivery of food from a local grocery store. Corcoran claims her father was a drunken man who did her mother a disservice and disrespect. Corcoran was a struggle in school and was later diagnosed with dyslexia. Corcoran started high school at St. Cecilia High School Englewood, after she left her Catholic elementary school. Corcoran dropped several classes during her first year and transferred to Leonia High School where she was a D student.
